2017 Traffic Safety Message Contest

Thank you for your interest in AAA Northeast’s Traffic Safety Poster & Video Contest! This annual contest is open to all students in grades K-12 throughout AAA Northeast’s territory in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.

The contest provides students in grades K-12 the opportunity to teach their peers safe behaviors in and around traffic while demonstrating their artistic talent! We invite young people to create a poster (either hand drawn or graphic design) or a short "PSA video (no more than two minutes in length) illustrating a powerful and memorable traffic safety message.

Students are asked to choose from a topic in their grade category:

Proper Use of Car Seats/Booster Seats
Bike Safety and Helmet Use
Night Time Visibility
Pedestrian Safety
Obey Crossing Guards
AAA School Safety Patrols
Grades 6 - 12
Safety Belt Use
Helmet Use/ Safety for Cyclists
Drivers and Cyclists Share the Road
Distracted Driving
Aggressive Driving and Speed
Be a Safe Passenger
Drowsy Driving
Impaired Driving

Please demonstrate effective written communication skills through concise, descriptive, advertising-type format.

Apply your knowledge of community and traffic safety by increasing public awareness of various health issues.

Learn, create and inspire others to follow safe practices through effective role modeling.

Posters may be vertical or horizontal and should measure no larger than 8.5 x 11”.

Video PSAs must be no longer than 120 seconds in length in .mpg,.avi, or .mp4 format not exceeding 20mb.

Please submit entries by April 10, 2017 by uploading the poster or video to this website.

You are encouraged to return to this website between April 24-May 8th to vote for your favorite contest entry. Winners will be announced on May 15th, 2017.

Winner’s work will be displayed by AAA Northeast in branch offices, online through AAA.com and the contest website, and winning posters will be printed in a 2018 calendar, in Club publications and educational materials.
