Here’s an early Christmas present: Connecticut’s average gas prices aren’t as high as they were earlier this month; and today, the state moved from the 11th to the 13th spot on the list of states with the highest prices in the nation, says AAA Northeast. Multiple Meds Increase Crash Risk for Older Drivers, Says AAA Foundation

Nearly half of older adults use seven or more drugs while remaining active drivers, says new research by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety. In addition, nearly 20% of drivers 65 years and older use potentially inappropriate medications (PIMs) the American Geriatrics Society say should be avoided because they have limited therapeutic benefits, pose excess harm or both. PIMs, known to cause impairing effects such as blurred vision, confusion, fatigue, or incoordination, can increase crash risk by up to 300%. ...Read More

Since the weekend, Connecticut’s average gas price has been dropping below the $3 mark – the first time since early May. The state’s average for a gallon of self-serve, regular gas is $2.98, 3 cents lower than last week and 4 cents lower than last month. Compared to last year, today’s price remains the same.
